Sketching and Labelling

Room 14 have been learning this term how to sketch with detail and label a picture.
We practised sketching and labelling butterflies and pirates.  Here are two of our pirate pictures.
Keep practising these skills at home.

Rhythm in Music

In music this term we have been learning about rhythm and beat.  We have used instruments, body parts and buckets to play the beat and rhythm.  We can play the beat slow and fast, loud and soft.  We can copy a rhythm and make a rhythm for others to copy.

Pirate Stories

Last week we wrote some awesome pirate stories.  Here are some of them.

Leon's Pirate Story
Once upon a time there was an adventurous and mean pirate.  His name was Captain Cook.  He lived in a good ship.  But then half of the boat went into the water.  Captain Cook was on the boat and he could fight well.  Ohh!  Ahh!  There was a whale smacking the ship.  If there was only one way to save my crew.  I know I could put the life boat into the water.  "Hey everyone, hold on tight"  They were saved.  So in the end they sailed to the island and they had a party.  That was the end of that.

Lincoln's Pirate Story
Once upon a time there was a grumpy and evil pirate.  His name was Jack Henderson.  He lived in a brown ship.  The men found the captain's lunch.  He ate it.  When the captain came back he said, "Where is my lunch?"  He said to the crew, "Feed him to the sharks!"  And he went away.
He shouted, "Please don't feed me to the sharks!"
The captain thought of it and said, "Yes".
And they lived happily ever after.

Joyee's Pirate Story
Once upon a time there was a smelly and mad pirate.  His name was Smelly Corban.  He lived in a treasure box.  The captain fell into the sea.  Then the shark ate him.  The End.

Construction - Pirate theme

We made pirate ships out of paper, blocks, boxes, lego, and mobilo.
Here are some photos of our ships.

Cross Country

We had a great morning running the Cross Country.  Lots of Mums and Dads came to watch us.
We went up and down the hill.  Around the trees. Between the goal posts.  Zig Zagged around the cones.

Leaped over the river (skipping ropes) and across the stones (hoops).  We ran the best we could.

Pirate Ships and Treasure Boxes

Last Friday we made pirate ships and treasure boxes at school.  What a mess we made with paint, glue, paper, and all sorts of bits and pieces.

Our treasure boxes looked fantastic!  The pirate ships looked awesome!

Mimio In Room 14

We have a mimio now in Room 14.  This helps us to use the white board and date projector interactively.

Wow!  We all wrote our names on the board with the special pen.
